TIP 04/24/17 - Repurpose those broken props! - Cut off the blades from your broken props and use them as protective plates for your ESCs. Just e-tape or silicone tape them to the top of your ESCs to protect them from prop-strikes!

TIP 04/25/17 - This tip is courtesy of Sean Dolan - "Heads up when retrieving your crashed quad. Take an inventory of the parts before you walk back with it. Typically the missing piece is nearby the crash site."

    Great tip, Sean!

TIP 04/26/17 - Label you batteries with the date you start flying them and an identifying number. This will help to to track your packs (like tracking your UPS shipments!), and to identify packs that are failing.
Example: You are our running drills and you notice one pack is losing its punch on the last few laps. Make a note of which pack it is ( i.e. Pack #63), so you can study its performance. If pack #63 always sags at the last two laps, you know it needs to be replaced!

Consistency is the foundation of success

TIP 04/27/17 - QUICK TIP - A clean soldering iron tip is a happy soldering iron tip! Keep your tip clean (with a wet sponge, brass scouring pad, etc.) and it will perform at optimum efficiency. You will be able to melt solder faster, which means less heating of your components!

TIP 04/27/17 - Change is NOT always a good thing! Don't just go out and buy every new component that comes on the market. You will never improve as a pilot if you keep changing your gear - it's like trying to hit a moving target. Research the components you plan to use; make smart investments, and once you have a setup that works, DO NOT CHANGE IT!

TIP 05/01/17 - Keep it connected! Make sure that your XT-60 battery connector (or whatever type you use) on your craft makes a solid connection with your batteries. Sometimes the contacts in the connector get a little "tired"...just push something into the metal contact to open it up a little, this will ensure a more solid connection!

TIP 05/02/17 - Jump in the deep end! If you want to improve you skills as a pilot, competing against others who are more skilled is the fastest way to learn. Expect to get hammered in the beginning, but if you pay attention you will see the tricks and skills that make the top pilots great. Learn from your whoopin'!

TIP 05/03/17 - Take care of your "fuel". Old gas and charged batteries that have been sitting for days are very similar; they both have lost their punch! If you batteries are going to sit unused for more than two days, be sure to storage charge them (do not leave them fully charged). Charge them back up before you are going to the field, your batts will thank you!

TIP 05/04/17 - DON'T LET THE SMOKE OUT!!! Use a "Smoke Stopper" when working on your quad. This simple, cheap component that you can make with spare parts will save you hundreds! Follow this link ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHtNGAS92AE&t ), and Joshua Bardwell will show you how to make one!

TIP 05/05/17- Focus on what is important! Before you start chasing your tail wie tuning, be sure to check that all of your components are physically sound. There is no point in tuning if you rig is not built properly. Look for loose components, broken prop hubs, bad COG, etc. Otherwise you are just chasing your tail...

TIP 05/08/17 - Everybody's working for the weekend! Have a race or event this weekend? Don't wait until Friday night to get your gear together! Collect your gear as early as possible; be sure to check your rig for failing components, and replace anything that is suspect. Eliminating these issues before race day is a professional's way to the podium!

TIP 05/09/17 - Use the community, that's what its there for! Having a problem with your tune, gear, etc? Ask the MultiGP community! Chances are that your problem has been had by at least one member of the group. Post your question or issue on the MultiGP Group page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/MultiGPCommunity/) and be prepared for assistance!

TIP 05/10/17 - Salvage Rights! Do not throw away any component until you have salvaged every usable part from them.....Even a bad battery had parts that can be salvaged (Balance connector, XT-60).

TIP 05/11/17 - This tip and image are courtesy of Matt Bennett, MultiGP chapter organizer for Music City Multirotor Club - "When you need a little more grip on a motor bell to get off a prop nut try a battery strap. Worked great and everybody should have spare of these with them."

                            Thanks, Matt!
